The LiftMaster LA500PKGUL is a dual swing-gate opener with a wealth of impressive features. This package includes everything you need to get set up – including a primary & secondary arm, a battery backup, a photo eye, and one FREE remote with visor clip (transmitter/remote picture is for demonstration purposes only, compatible remote model will be shipped depending on availability).

These dual-swing gate openers have a surprising amount of functionality and customization options, including:

• Open/Close Customization: Gate openers can be adjusted to close gates simultaneously or to ensure that the primary gate closes last.
• Warning Alarm: Gate can sound a “warning alarm” three seconds prior to opening, to ensure vehicles can stay back.
• Anti-Tailgate: The anti-tailgate feature closes the gate quickly so that no unauthorized vehicles can follow. Only authorized access.
• Security +2.0 Radio Receiver: The built-in Security +2.0 Receiver encrypts signals to eliminate interference and also extend signal range. It’s compatible with up to 50 remote controls.
• Photo Eye with Safety Reversing: Photo eye detects obstructions to reverse the gate’s course to be sure that the gate doesn’t close on vehicles or people.
• App Integration: The gate features full integration with LiftMaster’s “MyQ” App for remote control of your gate from anywhere.

Overall, this gate opener is built well and is built to last. It is made with an aluminum die-cast housing and can handle larger gates - rated for gates up to 18 ft. long or weighing up to 1,600 lbs. It can comfortably handle 300 cycles per day. The battery backup can provide up to 500 cycles or 24 days of standby power if it’s needed.

The LiftMaster LA500PKGUL is the heavy-duty upgrade to the LiftMaster LA400PKGUL Dual Swing Gate Opener, tripling the daily cycle rating from 100 to 300 and increasing gate capacity from 850 lbs to 1,600 lbs. Ideal for HOA communities, commercial facilities, and estates with oversized gates up to 18 feet per leaf. The package ships complete with primary arm, secondary arm, control board with battery backup (2x 7Ah), monitored photo eye, and a free remote.

The P3 Motor delivers continuous-duty 24VDC power through a precision-machined worm gear drive in a commercial-grade aluminum die-cast chassis. Battery backup handles up to 500 cycles or 24 days of standby. Security+ 2.0 encryption protects the radio signal, and MyQ integration enables smartphone monitoring and control. For a single-gate solution, the LiftMaster LA500PKGUL Single uses the same platform with one arm.

Built-In Safety, Solar Compatibility, and Anti-Tailgate Logic

The LA500PKGUL meets UL325 Class I through IV for residential, commercial, industrial, and restricted-access applications. Three monitored safety inputs on the main board plus three on the expansion board give installers full flexibility for photo eyes, edge sensors, and loop detectors. The included photo eye provides obstruction detection out of the box.

The LA500 platform is solar-ready for properties without convenient AC power. The anti-tailgate feature closes the gate immediately after an authorized vehicle passes. For high-traffic slide gates, the LiftMaster CSL24UL handles that side of the perimeter.
