SecuraKey Contactless Smart Card Reader/Writer Flash Drive Type Housing with USB Interface | SKY-ET9-USB-1

Secura Key’s e*Tag® USB Micro Reader is a USB device that plugs into any standard computer USB port, and it reads and writes to 13.56 MHz ISO 15693 and 14443 A and B contactless smart cards or tags.

The USB Micro Reader is ideal for any PC-based application using HF RFID (Contactless) cards or tags, including inventory, asset tracking, retail, loyalty, apparel, manufacturing, construction, transportation, security and access control, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and libraries.

The USB Micro Reader is a pass-through device, which allows an application program to communicate directly with an HF card or tag. It appears as a Virtual COM Port to a Windows application. It is also available in H.I.D. (Human Interface Device) or Keyboard Wedge configurations. (Call factory for details). Secura Key offers complete protocol documentation for developers.

The unit is port-powered, can be used with a desktop or notebook computer, and is compatible with USB 2.0 Full Speed. The Micro USB Reader has a built-in antenna but also includes an MMCX connector, which is compatible with any 50-Ohm 13.56 MHz external antenna. A recessed switch allows the user to change between external and internal antennas. The USB Micro reader has a translucent blue ABS plastic housing. The unit has an internal LED status indicator, which is visible through the housing.

Optional Antennas

Secura Key offers the ET-ANT 13X9, a flat pad antenna designed for reading/writing capability with HF contactless labels, tags, and cards used to identify individual articles, documents, and books.

The flat profile of the ET-ANT 13X9 makes it perfect for desktop applications in offices or libraries for file and document tracking and check-in/checkout of books. Secura Key also offers a 1” x 4” 50-Ohm printed circuit antenna with MMCX connector, 11” cable, which gets up to 4-5” read range with the USB Micro reader. This antenna can be embedded in a non-metallic housing. Secura Key can also assist developers with custom antenna requirements.
