A more comprehensive kit also contains trauma supplies like adhesive bandages, triangular bandages, adhesive tape, and sterile gauze pads. It also has medical supplies, including aspirin, allergy tablets, hydrocortisone creams, and insta-glucose.

OSHA-compliant first aid supplies include burn cream packets, antibiotic ointments, antiseptic wipes, hand sanitizer, and gloves.

A first aid kit usually comes in a hard plastic case. The supplies are also arranged in color-coded or numbered sequences for ease of use. Brands like Zoll have a Mobilize Rescue app that instructs people on how to properly use the supplies contained in the first aid kit.
